Job Title: Field Engineer

  • To supervise and coordinate the execution of construction, installation and hook up of Structures, Pipelines, and Brown Fields Work onshore Nigeria.
  • Carrying out all construction and supervising activities required for the successful delivery of the assigned works.
  • Comply with Project procedures and reporting requirements.
  • Implement Project HSE policies and procedures
  • Participate in constructability reviews and scheduling of construction works.
  • Participate in negotiations and resolution of disputes with sub-contractors
  • Verify work Progress and produce Daily Reports
  • Maintaining a flexible and positive attitude, especially with respect to the working environment and highly focused safety and security procedures
  • Ensure all permits to work are in place.
  • Monitor overall progress against schedule, providing reporting on same line management, highlighting the potential for slippage and propose remedial actions and signing contractors' daily reports
  • Ensure projects are completed and handed over on schedule.
  • Review project quality plan and ensure compliance with the agreed quality plan
  • Prepare project close out and "lessons learned" reports.
  • Implement project HSE Plans, conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance
  • Implement Procedures, Scope of Work, and Method Statements.
  • Review and comment on construction work procedures; assessing personnel and equipment for suitability for the work.
  • Liaise with others and supervise materials identification and co-ordination of supply to work sites, ensure adequate inspection and testing are carried out, ensure as-built drawings are produced.
  • Ensure project team and subcontractors have viable schedules for their work, recognising interfaces with other on-going activities.
  • Ensure that adequate records are maintained for all inspection and testing carried out.
  • Participate in all pre-commissioning activities.
Qualifications
  • Experience in onshore facilities construction work is essential, especially in construction pipeline laying and other onshore structures, as well as working on facilities expansions.
  • A good understanding of the relevant codes and standards for welding and testing requirements is a prerequisite.
  • A reasonable understanding of E & I construction and testing works.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.
  • Minimum of 10 years in the Upstream Oil and Gas industry, at least 2 years in a similar position with an operating company, Nigerian / West African experience preferred

Formulate and carry out the successful execution of all projects on time, within budget and with regard to HSES and quality, including:
  • To provide Quality Assurance and NDT assessment, technical expertise and management support to the installation / hook up and pre-commissioning of the project and to ensure subcontractor adheres to Contractor Quality Control / Quality Assurance procedures; promote an incident / accident free work site.

Experience:

Job Title: Senior Engineer - Cost

Job Description
  • Provide support to individual Project Engineers (PEs) in establishing and maintaining up to date Authority For Expenditure (AFE) and related supporting documents including variance analysis of cost over / under runs.
  • MONTHLY REPORTS (VOWD) basis for all ongoing projects (contracts) and department / team budgets and in connection with PE's produce cost forecasts (AFE's).
  • Produce monthly / quarterly / annual variance and trend analysis (VOWD basis), latest estimates against plan as agreed with responsible PM's.
  • S-curves (inclusive of actuals, forecasts, and commitments) for all ongoing projects. Provide support to PEs. Prepare overall department rolled up reports on the same basis.
  • Produce cost reports (monthly, quarterly and annually) as required, planned, actual and forecast costs, for all ongoing projects and contracts, in line with the agreed AFE's / WBS.
  • Produce other ad hoc reports on cost information.
  • Review and verify monthly accruals as produced by Project Accountants / PE's to ensure that they are correctly aligned with VOWD reporting against AFE's and overall budgets.
  • Prepare trend analysis report identifying early over / under runs.
  • Maintaining a Cost Estimating System (including Cost Breakdown System), including a database of historical project costs, and providing cost estimating support to PEs for new projects / project variations and to assist in forecasting costs to completion.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 12 years experience as a Cost Engineer in the oil and gas industry. Ideally with contractor experience.
  • Experienced with Cost Control and WBS / CBS systems
  • Full capabilities in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point.
  • Some experience with planning tools.
  • Experience is cost estimating and risk simulation
  • University degree in engineering or relevant technical discipline
