Taliban attack on pakistani university leaves thirteen dead


A fatal attack claimed by Pakistani Taliban wearing face veils who stormed the Agricultural Training Institute in Peshawar, Pakistan, has claimed the lives of thirteen victims and left fifteen others wounded.

According to inspector general of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police, Salahuddin Mehsud, six students were among the dead, plus three other people and four of the attackers, who had arrived on the premises on auto-rickshaws.

Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, the Pakistani Taliban, which owned up to the attack claimed that it was not targeting the school, but a safe house belonging to Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence in the same area.

According to reports, several people reportedly jumped from buildings to save their lives, sustaining fractures.

The army's operation to regain control of the university also took two hours as all of the roads to the university were blocked as the operation to clear the fighters took place, and emergency services were on the scene.
